Comparing sites side by side

The Compare screen puts 2–4 sites alongside one another, showing the same constraint categories and search radii all on one sheet. This makes it easy for developers to evaluate alternative plots against one specification, or for consultants presenting multiple options to a client.

Opening Compare​

From the main screen, select Compare (top navigation). You'll see four empty slots.

Adding sites to a slot​

For each slot, you have two options:

From your saved sites — click the slot and choose a site you've already screened and bookmarked. One click adds it; you can swap it out later.

Search a postcode or address — click the slot, type a postcode or street address, and press Enter. The app searches by centroid (postcode sector) if you've supplied a postcode, or by the matched address if you've supplied a street name. If the match is ambiguous, you'll be asked to choose.

You can fill from one to four slots. Empty slots are simply ignored — the screen only shows the sites you've added.

What you'll see​

Once you've added sites, the Compare screen displays:

  • Your sites at the top, each with its postcode or address label.
  • Constraint categories down the left (the same set that appears in the single-site Constraint Panel).
  • Status indicators for each site: green (Clear), amber (Attention), or red (higher risk) — all at the same search radius you chose when setting up each site.
  • One merged report sheet at the bottom.

Categories and radii stay aligned across all sites on screen — you're not comparing different constraint levels between them, only their actual constraint status at the radius you picked.

Swapping and removing​

To replace a site in a slot, click it again to open the site picker. To leave the slot empty, select Remove. Empty slots take up no space on screen.

Exporting from Compare​

The merged report is exported as a single PDF or DOCX file containing all the sites you're comparing. You can also download a CSV snapshot of each site's constraint status at the time you opened Compare — handy if you're building a spreadsheet comparison for clients or for your own review.

Saving your comparison​

The Compare screen doesn't save the setup itself — when you reload the page, you're back to four empty slots. If you want to preserve a specific comparison, save the comparison report (PDF or DOCX) with a descriptive filename, or take a screenshot for quick reference.
